Draft Housing Element Submitted to HCD

The draft Housing Element has been submitted to the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)! The draft Housing Element was released for a 30-day public review period on March 31, 2022. During the public review period, feedback was received at the 4/5 Planning Commission meeting, 4/19 City Council meeting, and by email. After the public review period closed, staff and the consultant team revised the draft based on the feedback received. Click below to review the revised draft that was submitted to HCD.

HCD will now have 90 days to review Orinda’s draft Housing Element and provide comments. The City anticipates receiving comments from HCD in mid-August.

Although the public comment period on the initial draft is now closed, the City will continue to accept comments through it’s ongoing public outreach on the Housing Element.
